Production Supervisor

As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing of processed and reinforcing bar. This role involves supervising up to 15 direct reports in an afternoon shift position from 2 pm to 10 pm, Monday to Friday.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the shift to ensure production meets targets
  • Ensuring all workplace health and safety management system requirements are met and safety standards are maintained
  • Managing costs to deliver projects in the most cost-effective manner
  • Allocating appropriate manning and ensuring employees are trained, fit, qualified, and competent to run operations effectively
  • Ensuring the operation adheres to site safety policies, procedures, and critical elements.

You will be an experienced leader with a background in heavy industry or manufacturing. You will have strong internal and external relationship-building skills, be responsive to changing priorities, and possess a solution-oriented mindset.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience supervising or managing a large team in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Leadership and frontline management experience
  • High-level problem-solving, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Experience with implementing lean systems and process improvement
  • A solid understanding of safety management systems and building a safety culture
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite and customer order systems or production systems
  • Commercial and business acumen
  • Experience in the steel reinforcing sector is highly regarded but not essential
