The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and driven Manufacturing Finance Analyst to join our Carole Park team. This role will be supporting the Plant Controller and working closely with the Manufacturing Finance Lead and Operations Manager to drive financial and operational improvements, support key projects, and help identify cost-saving opportunities while managing potential risks.

As a Manufacturing Finance Analyst, you will be responsible in maintaining a system of adequate internal controls and provide financial control to the manufacturing plant.

What you'll do

  • Participate in month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries and financial reconciliations
  • Participate in monitoring, controlling of plant costs and driving daily improvements in efficiency and productivity
  • Support the plant's lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying and eliminating waste, and providing financial validation, tracking, and reporting (e.g., waste disposal, utilities, recycling, labour efficiencies)
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs), including financial justifications
  • Maintain and update the weekly/monthly Assets Under Construction (AUC) register, attend project meetings, gather updates from project managers, and prepare related reports and forecasts to ensure timely project close-out
  • Ensure robust fixed asset controls are in place, including execution of the annual fixed asset count, assessment of asset life and impairment risks, and compliance with asset disposal procedures
  • Partner with the Regional Reliability Manager and Maintenance and Stores team to identify risks related to spare parts obsolescence, communicate potential financial impacts, and ensure compliance with procedures to minimize write-offs
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and adherence to internal control policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the annual planning and budgeting processes, including the update of standard costs.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience, preferably in operational finance roles in manufacturing, supply chain or related environment
  • CPA/CA equivalent or working towards
  • System proficiency: SAP or any ERP, advanced Excel skills and Office 365 suite
  • In-depth knowledge of Management Accounting, Reporting and Budgeting
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of financial analysis methodologies and procedures
  • Skilled in engaging and influencing cross-functional teams to manage and deliver project outcomes
  • Results-oriented to deliver in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
