Job Overview

The City of Canterbury Bankstown delivers 28 key services to over 380,000 residents. It is one of the largest Councils in NSW with diverse communities in Sydney.


A dedicated leader is required to join our City Assets department as Coordinator Landfill Operations on a permanent full-time basis.


In this role, you will oversee day-to-day landfill and recycling operations, including managing staff and contractors. You will also operate and manage leachate extraction and treatment plants at operational and closed landfill sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day landfill and recycling operations, including managing staff and contractors.
  • Operate and manage leachate extraction and treatment plants at operational and closed landfill sites.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and review Management Systems, Work Health Safety, and Closure Plans.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive job-related experience.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated environmental management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to waste management, environment, local government, Work Health Safety, and equal opportunity.
