Job Title: Landfill Operations Coordinator

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Landfill Operations Coordinator. As a key member of our City Assets department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of landfills and recycling facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee day-to-day landfill and recycling operations, including staff and contractor management, and collaboration with engineers for future cell construction
* Operate and manage leachate extraction and treatment plants at operational and closed landfill sites
* Manage and review reporting, monitoring programs, and site surveys
* Develop, implement, maintain, and review Management Systems, Work Health Safety, and Closure Plans and procedures
* Ensure compliance with Environmental Protection Licences (EPL) and Council Strategic Plans
* Implement innovative measures to improve operations, supervise capital works, and organize minor works at sites
* Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, licences, guidelines, policies, and plans
* Prepare, evaluate, implement, and manage quotations, tenders, and contracts for site management

Requirements:

We are seeking an individual with:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive job-related experience
* Current Class C Drivers Licence
* Demonstrated environmental management skills
* Understanding of plant operations, landfill construction, and waste recycling
* Experience in contract preparation and project supervision
* Comprehensive knowledge of waste management, environment, local government, Work Health Safety, and equal opportunity legislation
* Strong supervisory and organizational skills
* Budget preparation and management expertise
