Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to oversee the efficient operation of our landfills and recycling facilities. As a key player in our department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day landfill and recycling operations, including staff management and contractor coordination.
  • Operate and manage leachate extraction and treatment plants at operational and closed landfill sites.
  • Manage and review reporting, monitoring programs, and site surveys.
  • Develop and implement management systems, work health safety plans, and closure procedures.
  • Comply with environmental regulations and policies.
  • Implement innovative measures to improve operations and supervise capital works.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and plans.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive job-related experience.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated environmental management skills.
  • Understanding of plant operations, landfill construction, and recycling.
  • Experience in contract preparation and project supervision.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of waste management legislation and equal opportunity principles.
  • Well-developed supervisory and organisational skills.
