About the Role

Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial EI&C team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for major industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering solutions for industrial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Lead and manage electrical engineering teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, discipline engineers, and designers to develop project deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and ensure the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our engineering solutions.
Requirements
  • Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Engineers Australia (CPEng preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years' post-graduate experience working on industrial projects, delivering process plant projects, energy, water, or mining sector projects, ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules.
  • In-depth knowledge of 'in-plant' electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems.
  • Applied knowledge of relevant standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS, and AS/NZS 2067.
  • Understanding of renewable energy, industrial communications systems, SCADA, PLC/DCS, Hazardous Areas, and Functional Safety would be viewed favorably.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Areas and Functional Safety, including AS/NZS 60079, AS 61508, AS IEC 61511, and AS/NZS 4024.
  • Experience across all project development phases, including concept, FEED, and detail design.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
