Forensic Mental Health Program Lead

About the Role:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of multidisciplinary services at the Lara Precinct. This includes planning, development of human and financial resources, as well as providing high-level advice to senior managers.
This position requires strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to engage with other managers and service providers across Justice Health and Forensicare. You will also be required to provide direction and support that is aligned to the outcomes of our Strategic Plan, relevant legislation, standards, and competencies.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing and leading the implementation and operation of Forensicare services at the Lara Precinct
- Oversighting the coordination of regional clinics
- Setting service directions as part of the Forensicare prison management team
- Providing high-level advice to senior managers on emerging issues in forensic mental health within prison services
- Providing high-level management, clinical, and forensic expertise to the program
- Coordinating the delivery of Services at the Lara Precinct and regional clinics, including interventions and reports
About You:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional who can provide leadership, management, and supervision of staff and students. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice in relation to service development and practice within a complex organisational setting.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of current approaches in working with mentally and behaviourally disordered clients in the forensic mental health setting and expertise in providing individual or group treatment with clients with mental illness.
The candidate should also have expertise in clinical or forensic mental health practice, including forensic assessments and intervention, and expertise in clinical/forensic program development and evaluation.
In addition, the candidate should have extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, the mental health system, and the criminal justice system.
