This role involves delivering assessments, mediation, and interventions to support young people and their families. The focus is on preventing statutory intervention and homelessness by addressing family conflict and relationship breakdowns.
Responsibilities:- Conduct outreach-based assessments, mediation, and interventions to help resolve issues and keep young people in the family home.
- Develop Child and Family Action Plans addressing family conflict, parenting challenges, and high-risk behaviors.
- Collaborate with schools, community services, and stakeholders, making referrals for resources on family violence, mental health, and education.
- Ensure compliance with child safety standards, complete risk assessments, and maintain accurate documentation; participate in regular team meetings and professional development.
- Work flexible hours as needed to meet the needs of families and young people, with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Bachelor of Social Work, Youth Work, or relevant tertiary qualification with practical experience in case management.
- Ability to connect with young people and families, build trust, and engage effectively.
- Experience in conducting complex assessments, preparing detailed reports, and developing actionable plans with clients.
- Awareness and knowledge of working with diverse groups, ensuring cultural safety.
- Background in working with or for child protection services.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills to manage caseloads.
