Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual to work with young families in our Starting Out program. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to engage with families through creative approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Build rapport with young families to carry out strengths and risk assessments.
- Support clients to enhance their parenting capacity through assertive outreach and group work.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote children's safety and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with clients to achieve positive outcomes.
- Tertiary qualification in social work or psychology is preferred.
- Experience in assessing risk to babies, children, and young people is essential.
- Sound understanding of the Best Interests Case Practice Model and Children, Youth, and Families Act 2005 is required.
- Knowledge of age, stage, and development (birth – 5yrs) is also necessary.
- Proven ability to plan and implement innovative strategies to engage reluctant young families is a must.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills are highly regarded.
