Job Opportunity: Trainee Rail Operative

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Rail Operative. This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in rail and gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognized qualification in rail operations.

As a Trainee Rail Operative, you will be part of a structured program where you will work alongside experienced team members in a fast-paced environment. You will develop the skills needed to build a long-term career with one of Australia's leading rail freight operators.

About the Role:

  • Operate trains safely and efficiently
  • Inspect rollingstock for faults and perform maintenance
  • Support maintenance of locomotives and ancillary vehicles
  • Conduct brake testing of trains
  • Communicate effectively with depot personnel and clients

Requirements:

  • A current C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • A willingness to work day and night shifts (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as required
