Georges River Council is seeking a dedicated Bushcare Officer to join their team in Mortdale and supervise bush regeneration volunteers.

The role involves supervising and managing bush regeneration volunteers, as well as conducting bush regeneration practices in bushland reserves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage bush regeneration volunteers
  • Conduct bush regeneration practices in bushland reserves
  • Oversee contractors involved in bush regeneration projects

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience in ecological restoration, including assisted regeneration, revegetation, and large-scale weed control.

A customer-focused approach and a can-do attitude are essential for engaging and influencing stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.

Requirements
  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent experience
  • Experience coordinating volunteer programs and activities
  • ACDC Spray Licence or Chemcert
  • Strong plant identification skills for native and exotic species across various ecosystems
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
