Ecological Consultant

We are seeking a mid-level ecological consultant with 3+ years of experience to join our team.

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and capable ecologist to work on diverse projects across ecological assessments, development approvals, and environmental management for major infrastructure and urban planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field assessments independently in South East Queensland.
  • Prepare clear technical reports to support development applications and ecological management plans.
  • Analyse and present ecological data using QGIS.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and planning frameworks.
  • Collaborate with planners and other specialists to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Support project delivery including time management, client liaison, and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Zoology, Botany or a related field.
  • A strong working knowledge of SEQ ecosystems and regional ecology.
  • Proven experience conducting fieldwork in SEQ.
  • Proficiency in QGIS and ecological mapping.
  • Experience preparing ecological reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work within a multidisciplinary project team.
