About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our environmental management group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and developing effective environmental strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance with all regulatory and company standards, ensuring monitoring and reporting activities are completed on time and in line with requirements.
  • Coordinate technical studies required to support environmental approval applications.
  • Prepare environmental approval applications to ensure operational continuity of the sites.
  • Interpret legislation, government guidelines, and approvals to guide site operational teams in maintaining compliance and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Champion environmental approvals processes and support the implementation of the sites' Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Analyse, interpret, and report on the results of environmental monitoring data and trends.
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders, including Government regulators, neighbouring landholders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead significant environmental incident investigations and follow-up on corrective actions with the respective department managers.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Team's objectives, targets, and plans.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with other team members.
  • Participate in external events and community-based activities to support sustainability projects and business improvements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in the mining/resources industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Excellent understanding of environment, mining, and heritage legislation in WA.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental impacts and controls associated with a mining and processing operation.
  • Solid understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and auditing processes.
  • Experience with GIS, preferably ArcGIS Pro, and other database management programs such as Power BI and SharePoint.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, with the ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic and outcome-focused environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative and functional relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
