THIS IS A PERMANENT, FULL-TIME POSITIONTHIS POSITION IS BASED IN KALGOORLIEAPPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION CLOSE ATMIDDAY ON THURSDAY, 14 AUGUST 2025 Goldfields Region manages 8.6 million hectares of conservation reserves including national parks, conservation parks, nature reserves, timber reserves, State forest and former pastoral leases (proposed reserves).
Staff within the region work with traditional owners in many of these reserves to help protect the natural and cultural values of the area and to ensure customary activities and traditional practices are maintained.
Goldfields Region is also responsible for fire preparedness, weeds and feral animal control on 40.3 million hectares of unallocated Crown land and unmanaged reserves.
Kalgoorlie is the largest inland city in Western Australia, steeped with history and heritage.
It remains a vibrant mining town and home to a young, family oriented and multicultural community.

We are currently seeking a Regional Leader Parks and Visitor Services to join our team Under the limited (Level 5) or minimal (Level 6) direction of the Regional Manager, the Regional Leader Parks and Visitor Services: Leads and coordinates the planned development and delivery of the department's parks and visitor services in the Goldfields Region, including the regional communications strategy At DBCA, we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.
In this role, you will be Leading Others to help drive positive change.
Selection Criteria Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria.
These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
Demonstrated (Level 5) or considerable (Level 6) experience in the provision of visitor services and communications associated with the natural environment, in developing and implementing related operational plans, management plans and strategies, and having familiarity with the principles of planning and ecologically sustainable development.
Demonstrated (Level 5) or considerable (Level 6) experience and competence in financial management and other management and communication systems, including project management, risk management and information technology.
Demonstrated (Level 5) or considerable (Level 6) experience in effective management and leadership of teams, and in negotiating, communicating and liaising with the community, media, and special interest groups including Traditional Owners.
