Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical leader to join our team as a Staff Software Engineer. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned engineer to take on a key role in shaping the technical direction of our organisation.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading multiple cross-functional teams, driving technical strategy, and mentoring engineers across the organisation. You will work closely with product leaders and design teams to deliver impactful products that meet customer needs and drive business success.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading technical strategy and architecture
  • Mentoring engineers and developing technical skills

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to have extensive experience in software engineering, technical leadership, and AI/ML systems. You should also have excellent communication and influence skills, as well as the ability to drive alignment across executive leadership and technical teams.

Required skills and qualifications include:
  • Expert-level technical skills with proven ability to architect and deliver complex systems at scale
  • Significant experience with AI/ML systems, agentic AI, and driving AI strategy within engineering organisations
  • Full stack development: Strong expertise in C#, .Net Core, Next.js / React.js, Typescript, Node.js
  • Database: Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL DBs (AWS DocumentDB)
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance and secure APIs
  • Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, and Jenkins.
  • AI & GenAI Tools: Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot, Cline, Roocode and AWS Bedrock
  • Secure Engineering & DevSecOps: Deep understanding of security principles, DevSecOps, and SRE practices.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Familiar with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch
  • Agile Delivery & Testing: Proven experience with TDD/BDD, automated testing, service virtualization, and cloud-native application development.
