Operational Training Manager Role

This is a pivotal position that requires exceptional leadership and training expertise to oversee the delivery of comprehensive volunteer training programs across multiple districts.

The successful candidate will lead a network of Area Training Officers, collaborating closely with the RFS Training unit to develop and implement training strategies, programs, and curriculum products that meet the needs of rural fire brigades and communities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic frameworks and plans for volunteer training
  • Lead and manage Area Training Officers to deliver best-practice training and personnel development
  • Develop annual volunteer training plans and coordinate implementation
  • Identify, develop, and sustain a network of qualified trainers to support volunteer training requirements
  • Coordinate training evaluation and assurance activities to drive continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Mandatory requirements as outlined in generic Rural Fire Service Inspector role description
  • High level understanding of contemporary training methodologies and registered training organisations requirements
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
