Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage Major Hazard Facility Safety Case compliance activities.
  • Guide implementation, monitoring, and reporting on compliance with the safety case, ensuring full business compliance.
  • Provide expert HSEQ advice and guidance, partnering with site leadership to improve process safety and supporting continuous HSE culture and performance improvement.
  • Drive and align site initiatives with the overall HSE Strategy.
  • Identify and interpret legal requirements, providing operational advice to manage risks and ensure compliance with MHF, HSE, ADG, and other relevant legislation and standards.
  • Lead and contribute to risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP, Bowtie Risk Assessments, LOPA) to mitigate hazards.

To be successful in this role, your experience and knowledge must include:

  • Practical experience in a HSE role focusing on petrochemicals and major hazard facilities.
  • An understanding of business issues and restraints faced by line managers when implementing HSE processes and programs.
  • Relationship management experience with internal clients and external stakeholders.

Technical/Professional Skills Required:

  • Detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards, and management system standards.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in interpreting and analysing HSE legislation and audit criteria.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including effective liaison with fellow team members, management, stakeholders, and industry experts.
  • Incident investigation experience using ICAM or similar methodologies.
