Job Summary:

The City of Marion is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Community Connections department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing programs and services that foster engagement and inclusion within our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community programs, projects, and activities that align with the City of Marion's community vision and funding obligations.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders, including volunteers, community groups, and service providers, to identify emerging needs and develop strategic directions for community programs.
  • Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of community-based programs and services, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes, expenditure, and variances, ensuring that funding requirements are met.
  • Provide support to the Customer Experience team, including customer service duties, venue hire tours, and program booking administration.

Requirements:

  • Advanced communication and coordination skills, with experience working in human services, community development, or a related field.
  • At least five years' experience in grant-funded programs, including meeting grant guideline requirements and reporting requirements.
  • Qualifications in Community Services or Community Development, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a multi-demanding team environment.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance and a DHS Working with Children Check.

Working Conditions:

  • Some rostered out-of-hours work, including weekend and evening shifts.
  • Must hold a valid, full (unrestricted) driver's license in accordance with South Australian requirements.
