The Head of Retail plays a pivotal role in driving Culture Kings retail operations to success by overseeing multiple store locations across Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage performance, implement strategies to boost sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure each store meets sales targets, balance the wage budget, and maintain visual merchandising standards.

You will provide coaching on service standards that create exceptional customer experiences by leading, training, and developing the retail teams. You will adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring OH&S standards are met and maintained.

Essential Functions:

  1. Staff management and development: Hire, train, and supervise store managers and retail staff. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Ensure effective communication and teamwork among employees.
  2. Performance management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of each retail store, analyse sales data, and identify areas for improvement. Provide guidance and support to store managers to help them meet their targets.
  3. Operational oversight: Ensure all retail locations maintain consistent visual merchandising standards, store layouts, and product presentations.
  4. Monitor inventory levels, supply chain management, and logistics to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.
  5. Budgeting and financial management: Be aware of annual budgets for each retail store and monitor financial performance. Analyse sales data, profitability, and expenses to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  6. Customer service and satisfaction: Ensure all retail locations provide exceptional customer service and maintain high customer satisfaction levels. Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  7. Compliance and policy adherence: Ensure all retail locations comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and procedures. Implement loss prevention measures to minimise theft and maintain store security.
  8. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and ethical guidelines. Identify and mitigate risks that could impact the retail business.
  9. Strategy development: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales, increase brand awareness, and achieve overall business objectives across all retail locations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive retail experience, including store management, regional management, or district management.
  • Understanding of retail operations, customer behaviour, and industry trends.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop business plans.
  • Analytical abilities and ability to interpret data.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to adjust strategies accordingly.

Culture Kings is committed to providing a competitive salary package, including an estimated $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
