Project Financial Specialist

Effective financial management is a cornerstone of success in today's business landscape. With this in mind, we are seeking a skilled Project Finance Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reporting financial information, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities will include recording transactions, compiling and analysing data, performing audits, assisting with budgets and financial forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial transactions to ensure data integrity
- Assist monthly account reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements
- Prepare and analyse Financial Reports including budgets and forecasts in line with company policies and procedures
- Process payments as required and develop process improvements
- Maintain key controls over revenue and cost recognition, including related balance sheet accounts
- Analyse month end results against budget, identifying anomalies for further investigation
- E nsure the integrity of capital in progress balances
- Accurately account for unread consumption accruals
- Develop forecasts and budgets, identifying financial trends that improve the effectiveness of the budgeting process
- Provide assistance in the provision of information for the year end external audit process, including variance analysis
- Support financial projects as needed
Requirements:
- Post-Graduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance with related industry work experience
- Understanding of basic Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with TM1 and Oracle Net Suite (or similar financial and management information system)
- Well-developed quantitative, financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and non-financial information
- Effective communication skills to various stakeholders
- High level interpersonal and time management skills
- Able to make sound judgments and resolve complex problems
