About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapy Department Manager to join our team at Healthscope Hospitals. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Occupational Therapy service to ensure efficient and effective service delivery that is evidence-based and patient-centered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the Occupational Therapy service to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor less experienced members of the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Director of Allied Health and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Professional Development: Maintain a personal and professional development portfolio to ensure ongoing learning and development.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Masters/Bachelor Degree in Applied Science Occupational Therapy and eligibility for practicing membership to Occupational Therapy Australia.
  • Registration and Certification: Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience and Skills: Minimum of 7 years' clinical Occupational Therapy experience in an acute environment, with previous leadership and staff supervision experience.
  • Personal Attributes: Highly developed leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
