About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team as an Occupational Therapy Advisor. In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical advice to support the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) in meeting their commitment to care for our veterans and Defence service community.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapy Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing internal point of escalation for Occupational Therapy clinical advice
  • Advising DVA business areas on the appropriateness of clinical treatment, including provisions of aids and appliances within the DVA health entitlements regime
  • Providing specialized clinical, business, and policy advice to DVA policy and programs staff
  • Providing advice in support of program and provider audit/reviews under an agreed assurance procedural framework
  • Responding to queries from DVA business areas regarding health evidence
  • Liaising with external providers in relation to requests for services under an agreed procedural framework
About You

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with relevant tertiary qualifications, unrestricted AHPRA registration, and at least 5 years of current clinical experience. You will have strong critical analytical skills, excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical professionals.

You must be an Australian citizen and be willing to attain a police check as part of the background process.
