About This Role

As a Strategic HR Expert, you will form an integral part of the HR Team, collaborating closely with members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their departments. Your primary responsibility will be to provide well-rounded, pragmatic HR solutions.

You will act as a trusted advisor and be the 'go-to' person for HR queries within the organisation. Additionally, you will support other members of the HR team with employment-related matters and contribute to people-focused projects aimed at enhancing the employee experience.

The role is a Fixed Term Position, covering maternity leave, and will be based at our Head Office in Homebush, NSW. As a key member of the HR Team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on Australian defence and security.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Collaborating with key departments, including Engineering, Finance, PMO, Business Development, Legal, and other D&S entities outside of Australia.
  • Providing support to business entities such as our Civil Aviation business, as appropriate.
  • Working closely with the Head of HR and ELT on people-related matters.
  • Improving employee experience through process enhancements, policy reviews, and people-focused initiatives.

Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • A demonstrated understanding and experience in interpreting employment legislation in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Proven experience across all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience ideally within a regional and/or global organisation.
