Job Title: Chief Nursing Officer

About the Role

The Organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Nursing Officer to lead its work across comprehensive patient centred care, recognising and responding to deterioration, and communicating for safety.

This key position reports directly into the CEO and will be responsible for leading around 6 internal staff. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical and professional advice to the Organisation, its Board and standing committees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of national approaches to safety and quality in healthcare
  2. Collaborate with the Executive and Program Directors to implement and report progress on key deliverables
  3. Provide high-level briefing documents and submissions, present publicly to large audiences, strategically negotiate and explain complex clinical issues simply
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in professional nursing practice and nursing leadership
  • Expertise and knowledge of best practice principles relating to continuous improvement and quality assurance
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
