Job Title: Community Homelessness Advocate

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate advocate to provide outreach support services for individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, with the goal of achieving housing stability and social inclusion.

This role involves:

  • Providing effective outreach support services;
  • Developing personalized service plans that align with participants' goals and needs;
  • Implementing risk assessments and safety strategies prior to outreach visits;
  • Demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional development;
  • Maintaining accurate records and data collection in relevant databases;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in community services, social work, or a related field (minimum diploma level);
  • A current Working with Children Check (NSW);
  • A valid NSW Driver Licence;
  • Previous experience in homelessness support (highly regarded);
  • An understanding of issues faced by people experiencing homelessness;
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with key service providers;
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and religiously diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals.
