Job Overview

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing procurement function that delivers strategic, long-term value across the organisation.

This is a full-time permanent role based out of Melbourne responsible for driving transformation through best-practice governance, commercial capability building, performance measurement, third-party risk and compliance, and sustainability integration.

  • Establish and lead an IDP Procurement Centre of Excellence and Operations - driving innovation, governance, and capability building.
  • Champion procurement transformation, elevating it from transactional to strategic.
  • Oversee the transition of the procurement system from SAP Ariba to Oracle Fusion, enabling digital excellence.
  • Embed sustainability, risk management, and performance frameworks across procurement practices.
  • Partner with business units to align procurement with commercial goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive innovation and improve operational efficiency within the Procurement Centre of Excellence and Operations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement best-practice procurement strategies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Provide strategic input to the development of procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, or Law with a focus on Procurement.
  • Extensive experience in strategic procurement leadership across complex organisations.
  • Proven success in establishing and leading a Procurement Centre of Excellence or similar capability.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks and policies, contract and supplier management, and third-party risk.
  • Experience in procurement system transitions (SAP Ariba and/or Oracle Fusion).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial capability training in hybrid procurement environments.
  • Deep understanding of governance and compliance in procurement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across senior levels.
  • Experience integrating sustainability into procurement strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
