About the Role

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join our People and Culture Department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key people policies and strategies to support our ambition to be a High Performing Organisation.

You will operate as a business partner to Directorate leadership and management teams, providing strategic guidance, advice and analysis on safety and wellbeing interventions to support the achievement of goals and objectives.

The role involves managing and leading strategic safety and wellbeing projects, and the ongoing development of safety and wellbeing systems and processes to deliver People Strategy priorities. You will provide day-to-day leadership and management of the safety and wellbeing team and contribute to the wider leadership agenda of the People and Culture Department.

About You

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in OHS and/or wellbeing, with experience in an equivalent leadership role. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively gain cooperation with, communicate and negotiate with all levels of internal management, staff, union officials, Health and Safety Representatives and industry agencies.

You will also have strategic thinking and leadership skills to build safety and wellbeing performance, create a positive safety and wellbeing culture and to effect change. Additionally, you will have detailed knowledge, experience and application of relevant Safety and Wellbeing legislation.
