Recycling Business Manager

This is a leadership position that oversees recycling activities across the Gold Coast, focusing on commercial outcomes and contractual compliance.

  • Leadership: Provide coaching and training to optimize team performance, establish KPIs, and manage large teams to achieve goals.
  • Accountability: Ensure decision-making processes and accurate record-keeping for products and contracts.
  • Asset Management: Manage assets according to policies and procedures.
  • Financial Planning: Maintain budgets and identify opportunities for improvement to meet organizational expectations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure recycling business activities comply with Council contractual requirements and legislative obligations.
  • Training and Development: Provide training aligned with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in waste management/resource recovery environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, managing large teams to achieve goals and foster positive work environments.
  • Experience managing contractual requirements and service delivery expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for developing relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Possession of a current driver's licence.
  • Commitment to undertaking Security Checks and obtaining a Positive Notice Card during employment.
  • Tertiary or Certificate level education in waste management or environmental fields (desirable).
