
Leading Counselling Specialist

The Senior Counsellor plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, client-centred counselling and supervision services that cater to the needs of employees, clients, and families.
This position is integral to the Supporting Recovery Program, providing trauma-informed recovery care for victim-survivors of family, domestic, and sexual violence.
The successful applicant will possess:
- A Master's degree in human services or a related field with a minimum 3 years' experience
- Clinical membership with relevant professional bodies such as PACFA or ACA
- Experience in trauma-informed practice
- Expertise in individual and group counselling
- Proven leadership skills
- Significant experience working within the Domestic and Family Violence sector
- Strong understanding of inclusive and respectful practices when interacting with diverse communities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The Senior Counsellor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive counselling services that address the complex needs of clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing quality client-centred counselling services
- Supervising junior counsellors
- Developing and implementing trauma-informed strategies
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance service delivery
- Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends
To succeed in this role, applicants must possess a strong foundation in human services, coupled with significant experience working within the Domestic and Family Violence sector.
The ideal candidate will have:
