
Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist. This rewarding role will see you play a critical part in delivering exceptional care coordination and timely triage assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mental health triage and assessments to ensure seamless care coordination
- Deliver remote assessments for rural emergency departments through our innovative Northern Mental Health Emergency Care – Rural Access Program (NMHEC – RAP)
- Participate in our First Responder Program, supporting police and ambulance services with community mental health triage in real-time via telehealth
- Manage and process incoming referrals across the Hunter New England Mental Health service
- Hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or Counselling (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program)
- Be eligible or a member of the relevant professional association / have provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
