Job Title: Clinical Governance Team Manager

About the Role:

This position is responsible for managing the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives to innovate and reform clinical practice and health service delivery systems.

The role involves working collaboratively with government agencies and health partners to support the development of state-wide clinical governance initiatives, ensuring quality and safety in service delivery.

You will represent Queensland Health on state-wide committees and manage communication and consultation strategies with various stakeholders.

In addition, you will oversee human and financial resources, ensuring alignment with the Department of Health's governance structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate state-wide initiatives to improve clinical practice and health service delivery.
  • Provide expert advice to clinicians, managers, and service executives on best practice frameworks and state and national standards.
  • Represent Queensland Health on state-wide committees and manage communication and consultation strategies.
  • Oversee human and financial resources, ensuring alignment with governance structures.
  • Prepare high-level reports, briefs, and submissions.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in policy analysis, project management, implementation, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Deep understanding of the mental health alcohol and other drugs service system, including relationships between government, non-government, and private sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based service delivery models, planning, strategies, legislation, and policy frameworks relevant to the mental health, alcohol, and other drug service system.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and interpret data to drive service improvement initiatives.
