Our Organisation is seeking dedicated individuals to join our care team as Therapeutic Youth Workers. We provide essential services to individuals with disabilities, young people and children in out-of-home care, along with their families and communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person we care for, helping them overcome trauma and build resilience on their journey to adulthood in Out of Home Care.

The Role:

  • Meet the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational and educational support needs.
  • Contribute to a quality care environment that is safe, clean and personalised to those who live there.
  • Document events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us.
  • Ensure NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care.
  • Utilise trauma informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
  • Provide positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
  • Encourage social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people.
  • Support young people in developing essential life skills.

About You:

  • You have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support.
  • You have experience offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs.
  • You understand the importance of trauma informed care, consistency and stability in the lives of children and young people.
