Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Border Force Officer to join our team at the Department of Home Affairs.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for coordinating and prioritizing activities and response actions nationally, consistent with the Australian Border Force's operational priorities.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to maintain situational awareness and support a Government response to incidents and major events.

The Senior Border Force Officer will be required to work collaboratively with others, think innovatively, take responsibility for outcomes, approach tasks with a positive attitude, lead by example, respect and connect with others, and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively to build and sustain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the delivery of operational objectives through the coordination, prioritization, and delivery of activities and response actions nationally.
  • Manage a small team and the performance of team members.
  • Actively contribute to a positive work culture and support changing circumstances and organisational focus.
  • Acquire and maintain an understanding of the Migration and Citizenship legislation and demonstrate an ability to undertake research to enable appropriate decisions.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian citizen. You will also require a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
