About the Role

As a Border Protection Officer with the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs, you will play a critical role in protecting Australia's border. Your responsibilities will include processing passengers at air and seaports, clearing cargo, and undertaking project work and administrative duties. You will be part of a disciplined law enforcement agency, working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

About the Team

You will be part of the Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body under the Home Affairs Portfolio. Our officers are operationally focused, uniformed, and part of a team that patrols our air and seaports, remote locations, mail and cargo centres, and Australia's extended maritime domain. We operate in a rapidly evolving global environment.

About the Opportunity

This process is being used to fill up to several temporary vacancies and will be used to fill vacancies for up to 18 months. Non-ongoing engagements for a specified term may be offered for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of three years. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including processing passengers, clearing cargo, and undertaking project work and administrative duties.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the position, you must be an Australian Citizen. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
