Senior Unix Systems Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced Unix System Administrator to manage and support our enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration, audit compliance, and end-user support. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • This role is suited for a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for delivering high-quality services and customer satisfaction.
  • You will be responsible for administering IBM AIX and Linux systems, performing OS hardening, patching, and configuration reviews, and managing IBM Power hardware (HMC, LPAR) and applying security best practices.
  • End-User & Operational Support: Respond to incidents and service requests via internal queues, provide daily support including password resets and access troubleshooting, and maintain a customer-first approach in all interactions.
  • Audit & Compliance: Prepare SOC Type 2 audit evidence and technical documentation, support internal and external audits with logs and artefacts.
  • You'll bring:
    • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant enterprise experience in systems management in complex Unix IBM AIX and Linux environments.
    • 5+ years' experience in Linux and Unix server administration.
    • Expertise in IBM Power hardware, HMC, and LPAR management.
    • Familiarity with Active Directory, FortiGate Firewalls, and Rocket Software Web DE (a plus).
    • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business.

The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in a related field and/or relevant enterprise experience in systems management. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
