Contract and Project Management Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our team.

This role offers a chance to make a real impact on complex projects, working with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle from award to final close-out, ensuring compliance with SOPA and other legislative frameworks.
  • Prepare, review, and process payment claims and variations for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payments.
  • Develop and maintain claim templates, FAQs, and training documentation for commercial execution.
  • Lead training and onboarding for new contract team members, delivering handover tools and ongoing mentoring.
  • Review and verify claim accuracy, supporting documentation, and contract alignment, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage the end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle, including forecasting, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting dashboards.
  • Track commercial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging claims, variation closure, and margin impact using tools like Power BI, IFS, or Excel.
  • Chair internal stakeholder meetings and drive commercial visibility and accountability across projects.
  • Lead variation and change management processes, aligning with Estimating and Project Controls on value and scope.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Project teams to minimize risk, resolve disputes, and manage exposure.
Requirements
  • Experience in contract administration, preferably in construction, mining, or oil & gas.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, payment schedules, change orders, and variations.
  • Familiarity with SOPA compliance, especially in QLD, and a solid grasp of Australian commercial law.
  • Ability to prepare, dispute, and negotiate end-to-end claims, resolving root causes and achieving commercial objectives.
  • Proficiency in ERP/contract management systems, such as IFS, Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, or similar.
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Power BI, with expertise in pivot tables, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
  • Capacity to align payment claims with project progress, milestone tracking, and contract deliverables.
  • Strong commercial judgment, stakeholder management, and presentation skills to convey complex contract positions to internal and external senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior contract team members, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in drafting and interpreting formal contractual correspondence, amendments, and client-facing documents.
