Job Description:
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, from award to final close-out.
  • Prepare, review and process payment claims and variations for clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee the full payment lifecycle, including high-value and complex claims, ensuring compliance with SOPA and other legislative frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain claim templates, FAQs, and training documentation for consistent, high-quality commercial execution.
  • Lead training and onboarding for new contract team members, including delivery of handover tools and ongoing mentoring.
  • Review and verify claim accuracy, supporting documentation and contract alignment.
  • Manage end-to-end PO lifecycle, including forecasting, accruals, reconciliations and reporting dashboards.
  • Track commercial KPIs like DSO, aging claims, variation closure and margin impact using tools like Power BI, IFS or Excel.
  • Chair internal stakeholder meetings and drive commercial visibility and accountability across projects.
  • Lead variation and change management processes, working with Estimating and Project Controls to align on value and scope.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Project teams to minimise risk, resolve disputes and manage exposure.
  • Own contract registers, amendment tracking, and ensure governance and compliance across all documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the contract admin function, from SOPs and training to tool selection and ERP configuration.

The ideal candidate will have experience in contract administration in construction, mining or oil & gas, a strong understanding of construction contracts, payment schedules, change orders and variations, as well as experience with SOPA compliance (QLD preferred) and Australian commercial law. They should be proficient in IFS, Procore, Aconex, SharePoint or similar ERP/contract management systems, and have advanced Excel or Power BI skills. They must also have strong commercial judgement, stakeholder management and the ability to present complex contract positions to senior stakeholders.
