We are seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to conduct ethnographic research on the African Diaspora in Australia, exploring its impact on the country's social landscape.
About the ProjectThis project focuses on investigating the new African Diaspora in Australia, examining its embrace of Pentecostalism and its influence on the country's cultural dynamics. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, including anthropology, sociology, religious studies, African studies, migration studies, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct extensive fieldwork with Pentecostal churches in Australia and the African Diaspora communities.
- Investigate key questions such as how Pentecostal churches facilitate/hinder settlement and integration, and their effect on Australian cities' post-secular social environments.
Our PhD program provides a unique opportunity for candidates to collaborate with expert researchers in the field and contribute to policy efforts aimed at improving outcomes for African migrants in Australia.
