Child and Youth Mental Health Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled specialist to join our multidisciplinary Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) team. As a specialist, you will work collaboratively with other professionals to undertake assessments and develop treatment options for children and adolescents with significant mental health challenges.

You will have the chance to make a meaningful contribution to improving the mental health outcomes of young people and their support systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents with significant mental health challenges.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate treatment options in collaboration with consumers and their care teams.
  • Work closely with other mental health professionals on research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Two years post-registration supervised experience in a clinical area directly applicable to Child and Youth Mental Health Services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skill in contemporary psychological practice with children and adolescents.
  • High level interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including effective liaison with other services and agencies.
