Role Overview

The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a skilled Neurodevelopmental Assessment and Management Psychologist to join our Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) team.

About the Job
  • Provide high-quality psychological services, including evidence-based Neurodevelopmental assessments and therapeutic interventions to CYHMS clients and their families based in Hobart, Tasmania.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including consumers and their care teams, to understand presenting issues and develop and deliver appropriate treatment options.
  • Work closely with other mental health professionals, service providers, or other partners on research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessment and case management for children and adolescents with significant mental health challenges.
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
  3. Promote collaborative practice with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and family members to enhance client outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Two years post-registration supervised experience in a clinical area directly applicable to Child and Youth Mental Health Services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing assessment and case management services to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
  • Advanced knowledge of contemporary psychological practices, including evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions.
