Job Description

The Director of Physical Wellbeing is a strategic leadership role that involves the ongoing implementation, evaluation, and promotion of physical wellbeing initiatives for medical staff across Sydney Local Health District. As a key member of the district's wellness team, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance physical activity, recovery, and staff engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: The Director of Physical Wellbeing will lead diverse and multidisciplinary teams in achieving strategic and program objectives. This requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Wellness Program Development: The Director will establish and implement wellness programs particularly focused on physical activity. This may include developing new programs or enhancing existing ones to meet the evolving needs of medical staff.
  • Project Management: The Director will develop and manage projects to enhance physical activity, recovery, and staff engagement. This may involve working with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and developing solutions to address these issues.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: The Director will collaborate with the Chief Medical Wellness Officer and other stakeholders to deliver SLHD MDOK strategic objectives effectively and sustainably.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: A qualifications in a health or exercise related discipline and/or equivalent work experience: operational experience with medical staff would be beneficial.
  • Commitment to Staff Wellbeing: A strong commitment to medical staff wellbeing and an extensive working knowledge of wellness programs.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Experience in establishing an integrative approach to health and wellness for staff within a busy and complex organisation.
