About the Role

The Physical Education and Health Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping the physical, academic, and personal development of students across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in PDHPE and Human Movement Science, adhering to curriculum requirements.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs, promoting inclusivity and excellence.
  • Integrate theoretical and practical components of PDHPE, fostering lifelong physical activity and health awareness among students.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all students during practical lessons, prioritizing their wellbeing and safety.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and school leaders, driving growth and improvement.
  • Promote student wellbeing, resilience, and positive relationships within the school community.
  • Contribute to the organisation and supervision of PDHPE-related events, including carnivals, excursions, camps, and sports competitions.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional learning days, and school community events, staying informed and engaged.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to ensure consistency and quality in learning experiences across year levels.
  • Support the co-curricular and House systems through coaching weekend sport, mentoring, and attending school activities.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience teaching PDHPE across Stages 4 and 5 and / or Human Movement Science in Stage 6.
  • In-depth knowledge of the PDHPE curriculum and current NESA requirements.
  • Strong practical teaching skills in physical activity and sport education.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and support their holistic development.
  • Skilled in using assessment data to inform teaching and support student growth.
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills in both practical and theory settings.
