
Child and Family Support Specialist

The Child and Family Support Services program seeks to provide support to children, young people and their families who have experienced family violence. As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist psychological services and therapeutic support to those affected by family violence.
- Assist children and young people to recover from the effects of family violence trauma through the delivery of developmentally appropriate specialist psychological services and therapeutic support.
- Undertake psychological assessments of children, young people and their families using standardised assessment methods.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, case management services and referrals to appropriate agencies as needed.
Job Description
Deliver high-quality counselling services to children, young people and their families who have been affected by family violence. Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualised plans for clients. Collaborate with other service providers to ensure seamless service delivery. Provide ongoing support and therapy to help individuals and families recover from the impacts of family violence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in psychology or a related field is essential. Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is also required. In addition, applicants should have experience working with children and young people, preferably in a mental health setting. A valid Working with Children registration is necessary.
