We are seeking a talented individual with a strong commercial focus, excellent analytical skills, and experience in buying, product management, or a related field. If you have a passion for trend analysis and a knack for identifying market opportunities, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple product categories with a strong commercial focus, analysing market trends, monitoring competition, and identifying opportunities to drive sales and profitability.
  • Source and procure products from suppliers at competitive prices, negotiating favourable terms, including pricing, payment terms, and exclusive deals, to maximise profitability.
  • Allocate capital to inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand, closely monitoring inventory performance, sales data, and market trends to make informed decisions regarding inventory replenishment and clearance strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new and exciting products, identifying gaps in the market, conducting market research, and working closely with suppliers to bring exclusive and in-demand products to our customers.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective strategies for promoting your portfolio, analysing sales data, monitoring product performance, providing information and advice on product-related questions, preparing and reviewing product listings and promotional materials to drive sales growth.

Requirements:

  • A University Degree in a relevant field (Commerce, Business, or similar).
  • Experience in buying, product management, supporting a Category Manager with a product range, ideally in consumer electronics or e-commerce and ready to step up to have full category ownership.
  • Experience in AV, Electronics, Appliances, or genuine passion and industry knowledge of the category, within an e-commerce, retail, or FMCG environment will be highly regarded.
  • Private Label experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
  • Proven ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, bringing new products to market.
  • Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through exceptional communication and engagement.
  • Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes, so that we can offer market-leading pricing to our customers.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, being agile and adaptable is key to success.
  • A whiz with Microsoft Excel, able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ready to challenge, be challenged, and work within our highly disruptive business model.
