
Domestic Violence Case Management

The role of the Domestic Violence Case Manager is to provide case management services to families who have experienced domestic and family violence. This involves making initial contact with families, completing client intakes, including initial risk assessments and safety planning.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide ongoing case management for families housed through the Domestic and Family Violence Supported Accommodation Program.
- Support families to identify goals and immediate needs to increase safety, agency and autonomy and to sustain tenancy.
- Work within Trauma Informed and Brief Solution Focused frameworks; advocacy on behalf of clients, making referrals, providing psychoeducation and counselling, and other practical assistance as needed.
- Participate in meetings and liaise with other local stakeholders (e.g., Child Safety, Corrections, Housing, QPS).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognised institution.
- Understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and Family Law Act, and the associated impacts on families.
- Articulation of a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its nexus with child safety, family law and mental health.
- Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management and referral pathways, crisis intervention, DVO assistance and safety planning.
- Strong written work, including report writing, case notes, data collection and data entry; high computer literacy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advocate for clients' needs with other statutory organisations/departments.
- Professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues and community stakeholders.
