
Caring Profession Coordinator

The role involves facilitating and completing the recruitment and assessment process of carer applicants. Ensuring the assessment process is undertaken in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting carer assessments as per local carer recruitment plans
- Scheduling and attending home visits and meetings with carer applicants, their families, and referees for assessment purposes
- Recruiting foster carers from the general community through various media outlets and evening information sessions
- Identifying training requirements, safety concerns, and placement issues during the assessment process and providing feedback and recommendations to the care team
- Supporting and encouraging potential carers to apply a reflective analysis of how the caring role will impact on their life, family, and relationships
- Contributing to the corporate review of assessment tools and ensuring they are focused on children's outcomes and aligned with relevant government standards
- Onboarding and training new staff members in the Carer Recruitment and Support System
Requirements include demonstrated experience and skill in undertaking child-focused assessments in a child and family welfare setting, including carer assessments. Significant case work experience in the child and family field from a strengths-based culturally appropriate perspective is essential.
A recognised Social Work qualification with eligibility for membership of the AASW or a Bachelor of Psychology or other relevant qualification with significant case work experience is required. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant.
