This role offers a rare opportunity for a scholarly communication professional to progress an ambitious agenda at a university. Having just launched the Position Statement on Open Research, this institution is implementing the recommendations from two years' work in the Open Access and Research Data Management Taskforces.
The Manager, Scholarly Communication and Research Outputs is based in the Information Directorate and leads a team of high-performing staff with a wide range of subject matter expertise. They oversee the research support services for the Library and have responsibility for complex projects progressing the open agenda across the university. They are a member of the Information Leadership Team.

- Develop and implement local plans that align with our research strategy. Monitor progress, assess risks, and adapt priorities to ensure successful outcomes.
- Oversee the design, management, and evaluation of the Library's services related to research support, scholarly communication, bibliometrics, and stewardship of research outputs and data.
- Analyze complex issues, identify inclusive solutions, and translate them into clear goals. Implement and evaluate continuous improvement strategies to enhance service delivery.
- Foster stakeholder support, generate enthusiasm for change, and create a safe environment for open dialogue. Promote inclusive and respectful resolution of issues to advance our research agenda.
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Project management experience and a good grasp of the volatile scholarly communication landscape.
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience supporting research in a university or similar environment.
- Extensive knowledge of current research issues in higher education, trends in scholarly communication, and Open Research.
- Extensive knowledge of bibliometrics reporting practices, impact, and engagement measures, repository, and research data management in a higher education environment.
