The position of Global Financial Specialist for Mining and Metals is based in Brisbane, Australia. You will report to the Mining & Metals Financial Services Manager and work closely with deployed finance personnel, Global Business Unit management, and project teams globally.

This role requires professional financial/economic support services using quantitative analytical techniques. You must be willing to relocate to either an AUS or international project assignment as the opportunity arises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs research and prepares reports, presentations, and charts related to financial or economic issues.
  • Reviews contract proposal documentation for adequacy and compliance to good business practice and accounting standards.
  • Coordinates the completion of project start-up templates and provides direct Finance support to assigned projects.
  • Assists Project Accounting teams on an as needed basis and supports the Global Business Unit CFO as directed.
  • Reviews monthly Cost to Cost processes and participates in the preparation of Project Financial Status Reports.

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited institution with a major in Accounting or Finance and at least 7 - 10 years of accounting experience in the engineering, procurement, and construction industry.
  • Prior work experience in payroll, accounts payable, client billing, and general ledger.
  • Prior Oracle Financials experience and proficiency with MS office suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
