Job Title: Support Worker for Complex Care NeedsAbout the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to provide care and support for a participant with complex needs. The participant requires assistance with daily living activities, including bowel therapy, hoisting, and medication administration.

The participant has a spinal cord injury and Schizoaffective Disorder, which is actively supported and managed. Due to the complexity of the participant's needs, they require 2:1 care with the current roster and available shifts below:

  • Shift 1: 7am - 10am (2:1 assist)
  • Shift 2: 7pm - 9pm (2:1 assist)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Bowel Therapy: Enemas and digital stimulation
  • Hoisting / Transfers
  • Manual Cough Assistance (training provided)
  • Daily skin checks
  • Medication Administration
  • Pressure wound management
  • Personal care; washing, drying, dressing, grooming
  • Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning, meal preparation & feeding
  • Assistance with daily health & rehab exercises
  • Community access + rehab appointments
Requirements:
  • Experience with spinal cord injuries or other high complex care participants
  • Experience with catheter management
  • Bowel therapy
  • Hoist / transfers
  • Pressure injuries
  • Medication Administration
  • Manual Cough Assistance (training provided)
  • Mental health training / experience (desired)
  • Australian Driver License
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
