Desktop Support Specialist

Job Summary:

  • This position involves providing desktop support to customers and OEM SMEs for installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting devices in network and compute environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Windows, Mac, and other authorized desktop software/applications.
  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Eligible Recipient Workspace Hardware such as Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Mobile Devices, and video conferencing equipment and peripherals.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on devices and software.
  • Follow and execute instructions provided by Subject Matter Experts.
  • Provide onsite support to customers/OEM SMEs for installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting devices in Network and Compute environments.
  • Perform MSI standard software installations/troubleshooting, driver updates, PC tuning activities, reimaging, security, encryption (BitLocker), and antivirus tasks.
  • Install, support, and provide user assistance for applications (MSI standards) such as Google suite, Okta, VPN, Dialpad, Adobe, Microsoft, and iProcurement.
  • Assist users with IT-related incidents when called upon.
  • Take ownership of issues by analyzing problems to implement temporary or permanent fixes within SLAs; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.
  • Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT service desk system.
  • Maintain excellent customer service, treating all customers efficiently and appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain relevant support documentation to assist users in resolving incidents and service requests.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and internal system processes through training and development opportunities.

Required Skills:

  • Technical skills include a good understanding of IT principles, desktop/laptop support, Windows administration, networks, hardware, and domains.
